I have lived in Pemberton & D’arcy for the past 28 years with my wife Sandra and I have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. We live on a ranch with buffalo, horses, dogs and cats and live a rural lifestyle making the most of our beautiful outdoors.
From 1973 to 2000 I was with the Richmond Fire Rescue and from there moved to the Pemberton Fire Department to become the Fire Chief where I responded to all major emergency situations. I retired in 2014 after a very fulfilling career in the area and I now want to dedicate my time to the community, hence running for reelection as Director of Area C.
MY PLANS FOR AREA C
I have lived and breathed this community for the past 28 years and truly believe I can facilitate a co-operation between all levels of government for the benefit of the local community, which we are all so proud to call home.
What is really needed in our community, what we can we afford to do without having to raise taxes, who should build under what type of fixed cost contract, who should run and maintain the recreation facilities. How can we work with other jurisdictions to share costs to make recreation happen? I plan to find out the facts, develop a cohesive strategy and then share thoughts with the community so we can collectively agree on our preferred route forwards. Working with the village of Pemberton we have started work on the new soccer fields. We are nearing completion of the long-awaited friendship trail from Pemberton to Lil’wat.
I have been a part of this community for a long time, I know what the community wants and needs and am here to represent those wants and needs. I want to get the community involved as much as they need to be to make uniform decisions on any strategy moving forwards. I want to help make the community a better place for us and our families.
Having lived and worked in Pemberton and Area C for the past 28 years and having been the Fire Chief in Pemberton for 18 of those years, I have had the honour of working with many government and community organizations, all of these connections will be used to the benefit of Area C residents, these organizations include:
Pemberton Agricultural Community Association
Pemberton Healthcare Foundation
Pemberton Wildlife Association
July 1st Canada Day Event
November 11th Memorial Day
First Nations Communities of Lil’wat, N’Quatqua, Lower St’at’imc
Village of Pemberton

Ministry of Forests
Ministry of Highways
